Because of its sheer size, Dallas
has one of the country's
biggest gay populations. The Oak Lawn
neighborhood around Cedar Springs
Road and Oak Lawn Avenue has the area's
largest cluster of gay bars,
stores and restaurants.
Run by Dallas Area Rapid Transit
(Dart.org), bus 39 runs from
Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport
to West End Station, where Blue
and Red Rail Lines connect to Union
Station in downtown Dallas. Single
fare rides are $1.50. Bus number 539
connects to Mockingbird Station.
Voice (Dallasvoice.com) is the
gay community newspaper. Oaklawn
